Inca Inca Beach

Inca Inca is a small cove between El Rodadero and Playa Blanca, surrounded by hills covered in dry forest and known for being quieter than the neighboring beaches. You can get there by boat in a few minutes or on a trail of about 40 minutes.

Where it is

Playa Inca Inca is about 10 minutes by boat from El Rodadero, in a cove surrounded by mountains and vegetation. The Santa Marta Aquarium is in the same cove.

Access is more limited than at the neighboring beaches, so it tends to be less crowded: it is one of the favorite choices in Santa Marta for a quiet beach day.

How to get there

First you need to get to El Rodadero. From there you have two options:

By boat. Boat cooperatives run from El Rodadero to Inca Inca starting at 9:00 a.m. in low season and 8:30 a.m. in high season, with departures every 30 minutes. The ride takes about 10 minutes.

On foot. A trail of about 40 minutes, of medium difficulty, crosses the hill to the beach. It is best done in a group and in the morning, with proper shoes and water.

Turist Angel plans include the boat transfer, so you don't have to arrange a boat on your own.

Tours that go to Inca Inca

Turist Angel runs three plans that stop at Inca Inca, each with a different style:

Playa Inca Inca day trip: round-trip boat ride, direct transfer to the beach, typical lunch and travel insurance. Departure at 8:45 a.m.; return at 1:30, 3:00 or 4:00 p.m., as you prefer.
Sailboat day trip to Playaca and Inca Inca: leaves from the Santa Marta International Marina (boarding between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m., return between 4:40 and 5:00 p.m.). Includes marina entrance, lunch, one beer, one piece of fruit, a snack, paddle board and snorkel masks. It only runs when Tayrona Park is closed, as an alternative to the Bahía Concha sailboat trip. Transportation to the marina is not included.
Fiesta Blanca on the Katamarán Tayrona: an evening plan. Boarding from 6:00 p.m. at the North Pier of El Rodadero, returning at 10:00 p.m. Includes an open cocktail bar on board, music, a welcome snack and a folk show at Inca Inca. Dressing in white is recommended.

On the day trip you may bring food and drinks, as long as they are not in glass containers or Styrofoam coolers.
